Pittenweem Arts Festival 2014

The poppies in the garden this year were glorious. These oriental poppies were painted out in the garden with the bees buzzing around. I thought that the painting would also look good cropped into a panorama format and so used it for my festival banner.

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2014

The Pittenweem Arts Festival starts on the 2nd August and running until the 10th August. My web site has a page showing some of the paintings I will be exhibiting. See my Pittenweem Arts Festival 2014 page.

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2013

Last year we had great weather, this year it was fantastic. The festival was very busy with people enjoying the beach as well as the artwork.

Every artist gets a blue board with their venue number and I add a painted driftwood sign because my venue is split between the wash house and the shore path (under gazebos).

This year the town was decorated with bicycles for Pittenweem In Bloom. At my venue we had a green bike and it was themed after Mary’s amazing garden.

There was some time to relax and inspired by Vivian Maier I took a self portrant.

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2012

I celebrated 10 years at the Pittenweem Arts Festival and this year we were blessed with great weather. Our cat Xena was able to come with us and join us each day at the venue. She did have to spend some time inside but kept an eye on things. Here are some photographs taken during the Festival.

I had some new work in black and white, this painting attracted a lot of attention.

Talking about attracting attention – Xena on display for her fans!

One evening after dinner we got a treat of a fantastic rainbow right over the harbour.

End of the Festival and packing up, what would we do without the wheelbarrow!?

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2011

This was my ninth year at the Pittenweem Arts Festival and we had our most extreme weather to date! As you will see from the ‘wet day image’ below there was a lot of rain, however, with the changing weather you also get stunning light.

The sun did shine for us and those days were very busy. It was great to meet new visitors and catch up with the regular visitors.

Here are a selection of Andrew’s photographs from the week. The sculptures on the harbour wall were spectacular and a wonderful addition to the Festival.

P.S. Apologies to all for the lack of recent posts. Between the studio and blog refurbishments I have had lots of distractions.

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2010

I have been at the Pittenweem Arts Festival, this was my eighth year. We were very busy, more so than last year.

I love being at the West Shore of Pittenweem. There is always something to look at, from the ever changing light to the people passing by. I especially like watching the children playing on the beach.

There were lots of favourable comments during the week and my exhibition was reviewed with others in Gavin Broom’s blog.

We had a lovely sunset one evening with the Bass Rock turning pink. And if that was not enough a rain shower made a rainbow behind the rock. Awesome!

Pittenweem Arts Festival 2009

First apologies for the lack of posts. As you will see below I have been busy at the Pittenweem Arts Festival. It was a great 10 days with lots of sunshine and very busy.

The West Shore of Pittenweem is a magical place, there were children playing and swimming all week, giving me lots of inspiration for new paintings.I had lots of favourable comments during the week and have also been reviewed in another blog by Julie Broom.
