I have been attending life drawing classes at Dundee College. Tonight the model was Anya and we were working fast and using charcoal, conte, ink and soft pastel. Good fun.

I have just finished a larger studio piece and have posted it to let you see.

It has been interesting finding different subjects for the days I am able to do a small painting for this blog. I liked the personalities these little people seem to have. They seemed to be conversing with each other!

We had family visiting today. Emma, my niece, made a lovely subject for me. She was concentrating hard on her own art work, I was drawing her drawing!

I did this small study in the studio today. I love boats and waves.

Set up a little still life with objects from around the house. I really like the shape of the modern Habitat tea pot and the tea towel is a favourite.

We have a very tame male pheasant who comes to visit our garden and posed for this sketch with the reward of sunflower seeds. His striking colours being a challenge to capture.

Took my pastels out to do this study working from memory and photo reference.
Woke to lots of snow today. Went out to the fields behind our house and did a very quick oil sketch.

The sun was hitting the top of the fields and that was what caught my attention. As I was painting in the shadow I had very cold fingers, it was not just the fields that were frozen.
