I have an outlet for my printed work (cards and prints) at J&G Innes in St. Andrews. They have a window display just now showing some of my prints.

Sketching in Venice
I am recently back from a great week in the city of Venice. With so much to inspire, you are spoilt for choice. I found a nice quiet spot to sketch and as I was working I was aware that I had a young audience. The two boys were interested in watching my progress, they were visiting from Vienna. They both had an interest in art which was lovely and I hope I inspired them to do some sketching too.

Open Studios North Fife 2015
I am again taking part in the North Fife open studios event. This is on the holiday weekend at the beginning of May and runs from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th May.

Lake Side Holiday, Canada
It has been a while since I have done a blog post. After a busy and successful time at Pittenweem Arts Festival we had a holiday in Canada to visit my brother and family. I took the opportunity to get some sketching outdoors when possible. Below is the photo reference of my subject and also one of me at work. The third photo shows my sketch in progress along with my colour reference chart so that I can give reference codes to colours observed at the time. Photo’s don’t always show the exact colour as seen with the eye. Now that I am home I can use studio time to bring back the memories and apply paint to this study.

Puffin Coasters and Placemat
This year at the Pittenweem Arts Festival I introduced this collection of puffin coasters and a placemat. The images are from puffin paintings which I have been doing over the years. The collection sold out during the first couple of days at Pittenweem. I now have more in stock.
Pittenweem Arts Festival 2013
Last year we had great weather, this year it was fantastic. The festival was very busy with people enjoying the beach as well as the artwork.
Every artist gets a blue board with their venue number and I add a painted driftwood sign because my venue is split between the wash house and the shore path (under gazebos).
This year the town was decorated with bicycles for Pittenweem In Bloom. At my venue we had a green bike and it was themed after Mary’s amazing garden.
There was some time to relax and inspired by Vivian Maier I took a self portrant.
