While listening to a concert on Saturday night I felt compelled to sketch at the same time. I didn’t have any art paper, however the programme and a borrowed pen came to my rescue. Lovely to sketch to the rhythm of the music.

Harold And Rose, Conte

I found these two wooden rabbits while out shopping and thought I might like to do a drawing of them. I used three different colours of conte crayons in this sketch and charcoal.

Funky Hat, Coloured Pencils 41×57cm

This drawing was done at my life drawing class at Dundee College.  I have only just got into using coloured pencils. I really enjoy using them however it does take some time to do a drawing of this size. The colours need to be built up slowly. Luckily we had an excellent model who hardly blinked while the class were drawing.

Cat and Snowdrops, Pastel 29×20cm

Today I was looking out the window and noticed how nice the snowdrops looked behind the sleeping cat ornament. I sat outside and did this study with the birds chirping in the background. It was a lovely spring day, the gardening will have to wait!

Iona Cottages, detail, Pastel 18×18cm SOLD

This is a detail from a larger painting I have been working on. The inspiration for this painting was a result of visiting with the campervan.  We camped on Mull and did a day trip to Iona. What a beautiful place.

Volkswagen Campervan, Watercolour 17×13cm

This was a little watercolour study I did of our Volkswagen campervan. Andrew my husband is the figure in the van reading. We love our Volkswagen very much and last summer we managed a trip to Mull and Ardnamurchan, it was a great adventure. Some of the camping sites had amazing panoramic views, I got lots of inspiration and outdoor painting opportunities. Can’t wait until the next trip.

Brass Rabbit, Oil 18×24cm

This little rabbit is a charity shop find that I rescued. I enjoyed painting this on a red shiny tray.

Lemons And Jug, Oil 30×30cm

During this painting I was wondering what to do with the lemons afterwards. Finished the painting today and ended up making a lemon drizzle cake.
